The 2013 RAA, .sucks and click fraud all figured into last month’s top stories.
Over the past two weeks I’ve been posting about the biggest stories of 2013. But I’d be remiss to not also post my customary monthly list of the top news stories in the domain name business.
So here’s a list of the top stories from December 2013:
1. A big website is going to go dark thanks to ICANN’s new Whois verification – the new registrar accreditation agreement may lead to websites being suspended for failing to respond to contact information verification requests.
2. How I busted another click fraud (and auction fraud) scheme – someone messed up. Big time.
3. This one graphic threatens to derail progress in the new TLD program – .extortion.
4. HomeAway sues Airbnb over birdhouses – two vacation rental home companies are in a tiff over the use of birdhouses in their marketing.
5. You’d say .com is dead, too! – it’s just marketing, people!
