Amazon.com registers and/or acquires a slew of domain names related to new Kindle.
This week Amazon.com announced a new Kindle ebook reader that costs less but shows advertisements.
Users will be able to customize the ads they see on their Kindle screensaver through an app and web site called AdMash.
Amazon.com purchased the AdMash.com domain name sometime in the past two years. The last publicly listed owner in whois was a Pennsylvania man, but since February 2010 the domain name has been protected by GoDaddy’s whois privacy service.
Given that Amazon just registered AmazonAdMash.com last month, it’s possible that the AdMash.com acquisition was more recent.
Amazon picked up a number of other domain names related to the new Kindle and ad service, including Sponsored-Screensaver(s).com and KindlewithSpecialOffers.com.
