A very nice showing by .mobi. .net and .org not so good.

What an incredible showing for the .mobi names. As far as bargains go or names below 20k I choose DelwareInsurance.com for 12k or 13k, I know of other state insurance names that went for more than 75k good job on that. As far as worst name to buy over 20k that would be reversetelephonedirectory.com.
The next sedo auction for .mobi is going to go crazy. I can’t say much for this auction this time around the .com just did not get what they wanted, or the buyers where just sitting around.

I must admit that I’m surprised by the .mobi performance in this auction. But there were some good domains that make sense for cell phones. I’m somewhat dissapointed on the other sales.

Two things:
1) The dot coms seem to be surprisingly affordable in view of their paramount “brand recognition” and inherent overall value.
2) The dot mobi names appear quite pricey in comparison with the -real- number of visitors they can pull in — speculation seems to be the main leitmotiv for this “mobile domain” craze.

Well the silent auction is still ongoing. Closes Thursday 10/18 I believe. I have 7 names there myself. Hope it goes as well as the Live auction. If so the total will go well over $10 Million. It would be nice to see some kind of activity update from Moniker on the silent auctions. We are kept in the dark untill after auction closes.
