Here’s how to block friends from seeing your crazy night at the Playboy Mansion.
That was quite a party Thursday night at the Playboy Mansion in L.A. Compared to last year, it was really off the hook.
So now that your hangover has worked its way off, you might find another hangover when you log on to Facebook and see yourself tagged in a bunch of photos. These might not be photos you want your friends and family to see. So what do you do?
There are a couple things. First, you can untag yourself in each photo. Just go to the photo, and click “remove tag” next to your name.
That’s a manual process that might take a while. But there’s also a way you can prevent your friends from seeing all pictures tagged of you, and it’s worth turning it on if you stayed at the party until closing.
When you log on to Facebook, click the settings link at the top. Then choose privacy, and you’ll see a page of what people can see in your profile. Scroll down to “photos and videos of me”, and change the drop down box to “only me”.
This won’t remove tags, but it will prevent friends from looking up photos of you.

That’s not effective, however, if the person is also friends with the person who posted the pictures.

This years party blew away last years party. Also, the after party that went until 5AM at the Hotel was great as well.
The hangover sucked, and when I got back to San Diego my wife did not greet me with a smile but with a “I know what your up to at DomainFest stern look on her face”:(
I really need to score lot’s of “brownie” points with her in order to go to Domain Mardi Gras. Any suggestions???
Great meeting everybody.
Thanks, Jim Holleran

I think that those pictures should be plastered all over the web, for your wives/husbands, children, and friends to see.
🙂
Seriously, if you are so ashamed of your behavior that you must “hide” the photos of that night in the Playboy Mansion from your loved ones, perhaps you ought to take a serious look at how you behave at conferences?
It is likely that any controversial pictures will escape into the big and wild internet.

I agree with you. Guys are dogs, girls are cats. Both are fun loving animals who are geared to think with their lower regions. I won’t go into that analogy here.
My solution to that, now that I’m older and married, is not to go somewhere where bacchanalia may exist unless I bring my wife. Just my respect for her as my partner won’t allow me to even consider the natural dog side of my nature. Plus, her “I will slit your throat” comment keeps me in a “virtual cold shower” when the temptation is obvious. Swedish women, you get the good with the dangerous! lol

Someone e-mailed me this story idea, which is why I wrote it. But I highly suggest everyone review the privacy settings on Facebook.
For example, on the topic of pictures, I limit access because a) people tag my young daughter in pictures with my name and b) people tag pictures of me in high school that I don’t want everyone to see 🙂
With regards to pictures you personally post (again, thinking of my young daughter), you should limit who gets to see those, too. Facebook has a bad habit of widening the scope of your privacy settings. Be careful. And for some reason, you can set a default limit on who sees your photos but not videos.

Well damn. If there is a party where you need to hide the photos….that sounds like a party I needed to be at!
Its a recession, I say let loose. What happens at the Playboy mansion STAYS at the Playboy mansion is The rule of the day.
My solution? Don’t ban the FUN ban the CAMERAS!!

Upon several major domainers advice, and some undercurrent movement happening based on some secret/not so secret info being revealed about Facebook, anyone who values their privacy, their friends’ and family’s privacy, the time is NOW to delete your Facebook account.
I just did.
Gone are about 300 life photos, and almost 400 “friends” including almost every domainer in the industry. Why? Because I don’t want Facebook to use their face recognition technology to start cataloging my family and friends, and their likes and dislikes, and that includes my own.
You can get sucked up into the Facebook “idea” of connecting with everyone in a personal way. However, when this company is utilizing ALL YOUR INFO, including comments, links, photos, videos, etc to form a “PROFILE” of you and your family, it’s time to delete it and stick with Linkedin.com
If you want to share your pictures and opinions, put up a simple blog site. Then you can control entry and viewing via a password, where you clear who is REALLY your friend, not “friend of friends of friends of friends”
Think of the power of Facebook and their 500 million users innocently uploading everything about their life into this company’s database. Think. What’s next with those photos and info on your last vacation with your family?
